Facilities:            Spacious rooms for students to receive chess lessons and play.

                                   Indoor and outdoor play areas are available.

Sections:                 Students will be placed in appropriate groups according to skill level.

                                    Advanced group taught by US Chess Master and 2004 Ohio Champion

                                    Oliver Koo.

 

Bring:               Full day campers bring lunch. You may bring snacks if desired.

                                   The Canton JCC does not permit pork or shellfish on the premises.

                                   Chess sets, clocks, written materials provided.

 

Staff:               Progress With Chess offers an experienced staff of professional instructors

                                  who work year round teaching chess in school settings.

 

Fee:                 Full Day Option:  $220, Early discount, $199, postmarked by July 25.

                                    Half Day Option: $140, Early discount, $125, postmarked by July 25.

                                    Financial assistance available to those who qualify, call 216-321-7000.

                                    Discount to second family member.

 

Format:                        Students will be engaged in interactive group lessons according to skill level.     

There will be ample time allotted for supervised open play and to challenge our instructors to individual and team games! . There will be a short break in the morning and afternoon which may include physical activity.  Lunch and recreation will be from 12 to 1pm daily.

We will be holding a tournament on Friday. All students, including half day students are encouraged to participate, but not required to.

 

Schedule:                    Full Day Option: 9-4pm, lunch 12-1pm. Half Day options: 9-12am or 1-4pm.

                                    Before and after camp care available if necessary.
